Mary Woodruff is buried in a Commonwealth War Grave in St John’s Churchyard, Machen. Her name was not recorded on the War Memorial until November 2010. She enlisted on June 18,1918 and serving to August 1st at Shikari II, an auxiliary patrol base in Swansea and until October 18th at President III, an administrative base in Bristol. She was the daughter of Mr Lance Woodruff of Glan-yr-Afon, Machen.
